2022.01.20 14:56 outfoxed33 buying a 2013 Shelby GT500 in UK
I posted this in CartalkUK but thought I'd post here too in case anyone had any advice.
Husband is thinking about purchasing a 2013 Ford Shelby GT500. Impractical over here for sure, but it would be an occasional Sunday driver kind of thing. This is a dream car for him.
Do these cars hold their value? (it is low mileage in immaculate condition). We wouldn't be buying it as an investment, but if in say, 10 years down the road we wanted to sell it, is it going to lose us a lot of money? I know nothing about collectable American cars and don't know what the market for this kind of car is here in the UK. Basically I want to know we're not going to be stuck with something undesirable if we want to sell it and use the money for something else.
Any advice is gratefully received and I'd also be interested to know if you think this car will hold its value or even appreciate in the future, whether in the US or UK. This is for my own piece of mind, if it was only up to my husband he'd be buying this car in a heartbeat!

2022.01.20 14:56 bcfp2016 Two vastly different trucks - same price
Currently have a 2015 F150 SuperCrew 2WD truck with 50k miles that I’m looking to upgrade to a 4WD version.
I have two options that I’ve narrowed down to:
-2016 F150 SuperCrew XLT 4WD with 33k miles and 5.5 foot bed -2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited Double Cab 4WD with 43k miles and 6.5 foot bed
Both trucks will have what I want like Apple CarPlay, heated seats, and respectable towing.
The ford will be quicker off the gas, but the sierra can tow much more.
There’s not a big difference in HP and torque.
I’m leaning towards the sierra due to having LED lights and more headroom/legroom (I’m 6 foot 4).
The double cab means smaller backseat but I do not have kids (just one dog) and it’s still a full rear door.
The sierra is a 40/20/40 seat however meaning bench seat with folding console.
This is a tough decision and the Ford is only $700 more. Both KBB values are exactly identical.
What are we thinking? And please don’t recommend other trucks. These two are in my price range and work just fine.

2022.01.20 14:56 Dally68 Updated Playoff Breakdown
Okay. So with the release of divisional sets , divisional commons, etc, I'll give a quick rundown of what I think is the best way to proceed. THIS IS JUST IN CASE ANYONE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND, OR IS CONFUSED BY THE NEW DROP. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL SEE THIS INSTEAD OF SPAMMING W THE SAME QUESTION.
450s - still the 6 uncommon player requirement. They require 4 divisional uncommons (or 6 if you want, which are accuired mainly through the Divisional Uncommon Set). The good news is they accept 2 uncommons from either the Wild Card round or Divisional Round. This makes the random uncommon set much less risky (and actually, I recommend doing this set with any wild card items -- sunglasses or sandals-- you have, since eliminated team's items will be harder to get imo).
400s - still 3 uncommons. 1 of which must be a Divisional player, so you have to do one of the Divisional Uncommon Sets. 2 uncommons can be from either the Wild card or Divisional Round. Again. Ideal to hit the random uncommon player set TWICE no matter what. Even a duplicate card should be able to be used, and if you get a Divisional Uncommon in the process, then even better imo.
Divisional Uncommons (both AFC & NFC variations) still require 60 items. 10 from each of the 4 teams in the respective conference, then 20 of any remaining play off team. So unless you are going for a Wild Card Iconic still (Freeney, Peters, Can, and the OG) then you should use any of the wild card items in the random uncommon set for reasons above. If you still want a Wild Card Iconic, then proceed as normal and do the AFC/NFC uncommon sets, since the team specific events (Rams vs Bucs, Bills vs Chiefs, etc) will still give items that work in the wild card sets too.
Again, this is just my first take on the new requirements and ayer drops. I absolutely could have missed something but this should give the basic information needed to make your own informed decisions about how to proceed. If any of you sees a flaw in this or a better route, please comment on here.

2022.01.20 14:56 ChampionOfBaiting Best way to completely rebuild your raft?
Rather than completely demolishing the old one, I decided to build a branch off my existing raft and build the new one next to it, and demolish the old one as I need the materials. Halfway through the process through I noticed that, when in rough water, one edge of my new raft plunges really deep into the water, like way deeper than any part of my old raft does. I suspect there's some spot on my old raft that acts as a balancing point, and the boat just tilts around it to simulate movement in waves. I'm guessing the tilting spot is the the original 4 tiles you start the game with. So if I were to go through with my plan, I'm afraid that the boat's center would be somewhere way off to the side, and the floor of my new raft would be underwater every time there's waves.
I really don't want to demolish my old boat before building a new one. Is there a mod anyone can recommend that would make this simple?

2022.01.20 14:56 huorn_attitude Opening a Report from a Table or Query
I am working on a database and the client really wants to be able to select an entry (or a link in the entry) and have that take them to a report of the information related to that entry. They want to be able to do that from a query or table, as they dislike the reading format of a form. Right now I have a query taking information from two separate forms, but I can combine if needed so that they could select from a table instead of a query.
Is there a way to do this? I am fairly new to Access so don't have a lot of SQL/VBA experience, but am willing to try that out if that's the solution. This is pretty non-negotiable for the client so I am hoping there is a solution.

2022.01.20 14:56 SodimisticDan I’ve been thinking of porting Undertale to the NES and I think I’ve encountered the first major issue: Cartridge capacity.
I’ve got some experience in programming but none in 6502 assembly. So I suspect this undertaking would be difficult. What really peaked my interest was seeing the demo game Famitale, which was basically the first cutscene of Undertale, plus much of the music ported to the NES. The fact that most of it sounded identical or even good on the NES is incredible. And it got me thinking, “Why hasn’t anyone ported Undertale to the NES?”
Then it hit me. Cartridge size. The whole game of Undertale is AFAIK between 170-220MB. The largest game on the NES, (Kirby’s Adventure) is 700KB. There is absolutely no way, even just simplifying the gameplay or sprites, could it be ported to the NES. It’s simply too big. So, my ideas are this.
A. Make the game shorter, MUCH shorter, cut out some content to make the size feasible
B. Separate the game into multiple cartridges, as long as the max could be 3-4.
C. Or, if this is even feasible, include expanded storage chips in the cartridge readable by the NES, that could allow for vastly bigger games. And with todays technology I imagine it would cost almost nothing.
Now brings the questions. How big of a game could the NES theoretically read? Would it be possible to bypass any potential size limits if I just wrote the game for emulator use only? But even that might defeat the purpose of a port.
I’m also aware I’ll have to do extensive research in how the NES hardware works. But those are obstacles I’m willing to cross.
I’ve considered a SNES port which might be more feasible, but at the same time the SNES has a completely different sound chip compared to the NES, so I’m afraid any music would not be as faithful to the original 8-bit style soundtrack.
